Barry
Lead Producer
(they, them)
Barry is the producer of It’s Alive!!, a workshop and reading series for new works by transgender and nonbinary playwrights. They have been involved with the Chicago theater community since 2015, and have studied acting and playwriting at Green Shirt Studio, Chekhov Studio Chicago, Chicago Dramatists, and The Neo-Futurists. They were a company member of the now-defunct Agency Theater Collective from 2018 to 2021, during which time they starred in the company’s 2018 production of Hellcab as the Driver and co-produced The Basement Series, a monthly performance series for short works in development. They have a Bachelor’s degree in English and Women’s and Gender Studies, and a Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in Nonprofit and Public Management, both from Rutgers University. Barry also co-hosts, edits, and produces film podcast 96 Greers and volunteers with their neighborhood mutual aid network.

Artemis Westover
Resident Dramaturg

Artemis Westover is a dramaturg, director, artist, and performer based in Chicago. Their work brings theory and research into an experimental space, focused on sensory experiences and creation.They are the Program Manager for It's Alive!! They have a BFA in Dramaturgy/Criticism from DePaul University, in addition to school they have worked at the Goodman Theatre and Drury Lane this fall.

Harlow Bunten
Associate Producer
(they, he)
Harlow Bunten (they/he) is a producer, playwright, and comedian who recently relocated to Chicago from central Missouri. They have been writing, performing, and trying to make people laugh for the past five years. In the past year, they have produced and performed in shows with various venues across the city including the iO theater, The Bughouse, The Annoyance Theatre and Bar, and more. They have written comedic and dramatic pieces for multiple play festivals and sketch shows and are releasing an original work in collaboration with Eclectic Full Contact Theater this coming September as part of their “Half Hour Audio Hour” play series. Harlow is thrilled to be a part of the Genderfucked production team and looks forward to assisting with the development of new works and community of local LGBT+ writers and entertainers.
